Daydreaming of Yesterday ~ Original Charcoal Drawing of Seated Woman
This relaxing pose by a nude woman will surely send you off on your own daydreams, as art in your bedroom or any peaceful space. This Sicilian model Jessica has those dramatically dark, beautiful looks typical of Mediterranean women. The female body is seated on a couch in a C-curve with interesting shadow shapes in the face.
Daydreaming or lost in thought, behind her is a beach scene through the window. Rectangle against curves, subtle contrast, peaceful meditation are themes of this original drawing. Charcoal with white pastel on grey Italian paper.
Daydreaming of Yesterday is beautifully framed and ready to hang, see image for a small frame separation top left corner, priced lower because of this slight imperfection. Ships from Norfolk, Virginia, USA.
I have had a lot of conversations with models over the decades and I find it interesting how many of them use their pose time to get some brain-work done. Some use it as a form of mediation, this staying still and isolated, despite being with others. In the meantime, I enjoyed the star-shaped shadows on Jessica's face and designed the figure, not just copy what I see. Her body made a bit of a C-curve, so I contrasted that by putting in a rectangular window with other shapes and tones to balance out the composition.
Daydreaming of Yesterday is beautifully framed and ready to hang.
