Spotted ~ Leopard with Woman

She seems so sweet and tame, but watch those SPOTS! Empowered woman has a spotted leopard as her spirit animal. The big cat is in stalking mode, staring directly at the viewer. The woman is posing (feline stretching?), relaxed, but also following you with her eyes. She is aware, yet calm. For now.

I tend to want to show people as a part of Nature, our connections that seem more fleeting these days.  As such, I started creating drawings of friend who became model Ayala with big cats (there is another artwork with a blue panther).  She has a flower in her hair in the color of her leopard, connecting the two.

I chose charcoal because of its ability to feel ghostly.  Then I chose to use warm pastels for the wild cat to draw attention to his stalking movement around her.  Is it protective or predatory?

This drawing has been cut down to 18 x 24 (one inch off width) and put into a simple dark frame with acrylic spacers and plastic cover instead of glass for better shipping.
