Sculpture Unveiling on Liberation Day, Cavriglia, Italy
A visit to Cavriglia in Tuscany, Italy, to a sculpture unveiling by Armenian sculptor Vighen Avetis leads to some surprises. It was 25 April, which is Liberation Day in Italy (against the fascists and Nazis). The day of remembering those who lost their lives and the horrors of war is aided by sculpture art. Including a mother with children larger-than-life bronze by the same sculptor that records the sorrows of the genocide of Armenians. This small Italian town is making sculpture a big part of its daily life, thanks to Mayor Leonardo Degl'Innocenti o Sanni.
