Turkish Light is a lovely classical still life painting to grace this dining room with orange and black decor.
this still life oil painting of a marble slab shelf supporting a lovely draped red, orange, and black scarf, with a small colored glass bowl with a lit tealight inside and a metal vase type thing from Morocco or maybe Turkey. shown here in a modern but warm kitchen scene.
Showing the frame of a dark distressed wood with the inner lining painted gold. really accents this still life painting of a red and orange and black scarf falling off of a white marble slab. A small colored glass candle holder that the artist bought in Istanbul, Turkey, and a metal exotic container found in an antique market in Italy, but possibly Persian or Moroccan in origin.
this dark still life painting with classic color combination of white black and red looks great in a mostly light-filled and neutral colored room.

Turkish Light is a memory of exotic lands.  I have been to both Morocco and Istanbul, buying the little glass mosaic candle holder in the latter locale.  Also, I bought the scarf at an "ethnic fair" [as my friend has always called it, hence I can never remember the real name of the market] in Florence, Italy.  This was a chance for me to paint rich reds and include a marble slab:  fun, fun!

Turkish Light is painted on a wooden panel treated with at least two coats of gesso vero [rabbit skin glue], professionally prepared in Florence, Italy, where this image was painted.  The work ships framed and ready to hang.

I hope this image allows you to mentally travel to faraway places and calm your busy days.
