- Bronze on Limestone base

Sea Turtles seem to fly near a kelp plant. This is a sculpture in bronze with a curvy hand-carved limestone base that implies the sandy sea floor
I created a limited edition here of my very first bronze sculpture! This composition of sea turtles is a popular tabletop sculpture. Sea Turtles are so graceful underwater. Each bronze is considered an original work of art because of the complicated steps in casting bronze. There is so much individual work done on every wax and the subsequent cast metal piece, plus the patina (color finish).
Also, I hand-carve each limestone base. Since each stone is unique, you will truly have an original work of art. Here are the numbers 7 and 8 in the edition. You will see how different each stone is, while following the basic compositional idea.
I swam with some while snorkeling in Hawai'i with my brother Michael. He took this image of me while we were with spinner dolphins. We had not intended to be out so long, but after film was used, we saw a bunch of sea turtles. I got on the plane home to Texas with my entire backside BURNT! Oy... that was a painful flight.
