Ulivo nel Campo, Fine Art Prints
from the original (sold) painting of an Olive Tree in a Tuscan terraced farm, 60 x 45 cm [23.6 x 17.7 inches] acrylic on wood panel [See original painting here.]
Olive trees have such personalities! The branches on an olive tree twist and turn in odd and individual ways, some point almost straight up, while the fruit-bearing branches zig zag towards the earth. This is a portrait of one of the artist's favorite olive trees, with rape growing in rows in a terraced field in Tuscany, Italy.
Prints available here of the original acrylic painting on wood. The image area is as listed and the white border is around the image, making the print a wee bit larger. Each fine art reproduction is printed on quality Italian paper.
YOUR CHOICE:
- framed print: 50 x 37 cm (about 20 x 15 inches). There are images here of the print in a frame gold frame with mat and thin gold outline. Framed with glass. Signed by the artist, me, Kelly Borsheim
- unframed print with some border. See the selection of sizes to suit your needs or your space.
Fine art print of a portrait of an olive tree in Tuscany is framed with white mat, thin gold outline in the mat, and the frame is gold with a green inner section. Lovely and bright.
(The word "Print" will not appear on the image.)
Framing Tips:
I recommend framing behind a non-glare glass, with a mat, and simple frame. The color of the mat and frame should go with the color of the print. Care for your print just as you would any work on paper: do not display in direct sun and protect from humidity. The framer should attach the print to the support ONLY on the TOP edge, allowing the paper to hang freely behind the mat. That freedom allows the paper to respond well to most levels of changing humidity.
Happy shopping and sharing,
Thank you, Kelly Borsheim

Olivo nel Campo
I started this portrait of an olive tree just after I passed the written part of the Italian driver's license exam. I found that exam a challenge [that has lasted most of 2018 as I tried to get over the language barrier] and this painting was a great stress-release and 'welcome back to work' celebration.
I have always had a spiritual connection with trees. My mother would always look outside and up when it was time to call me home when I was a child. I would sit in the trees for hours, quietly thinking, observing, listening. The olive trees, at least in Tuscany, have such unique shapes and twisted, gnarly branches and sometimes even torn and hollowed out trunks that they have always seemed like individual personalities.
Maybe it is true that nearness breeds fondness. I have watched the trees here, this one in particular, over the last several years, especially when I was carving stone in the same spot where I stood to make this painting. It is lovely how the sun passes over the silver-grey-greenish leaves of an olive tree. Rape is growing in the field [campo in Italian], shown in the background. A seasonal, yet now dried creek is behind that campo. The trees growing up around the creek bed are causing an area of shadows.
This acrylic painting was created on a wooden panel with two coats of gesso vero [true gesso]. I hope that he finds a good home.
Peace,

Neighbor's dog Yoda was a fun companion during the painting of this portrait of an olive tree. However, here, he stands in front of the finished artwork while I was trying to photograph the painting. Fun assistant, eh?
