Christianity Art:
Even though I create the content on my Web site, I am still surprised at the variety of topics found on my site. I love using the search tool on every page to find a theme for art articles, for example. For this newsletter and Easter, I searched for Crucifix. I was looking for the art of my friend Vasily. But I had forgotten the charcoal drawing that I made of a similar topic!
So, here you go on this violent theme that seems to inspire so many:

Crucifix

In Borsheim Arts Studio!
It seems this winter and now spring, there have been fewer sunny days without wind than normal. I tend to paint inside during the rain and am slowly refining the shape of my abstract marble (Portuguese Rose) swan when the mornings are sunny. You may see the sculpture on my table outside amongst the flowering wisteria of both purple and white, the red maple tree, and the last of the tulips this year.

And it seems that I have been getting called more often to do my volunteer "taxi" service with the Misericordia organization. Since I am still healing from my spine surgery, I cannot be sure that if a patient / client falls, that I will be able to catch him and support him back onto a chair, a gurney, or into the ambulance. Thus, my service mostly involves driving people who can walk to things such as doctor appointments, therapy, dialysis, or even just grocery shopping and other errands for those who no longer drive themselves places.

I usually walk up to the office in the village to pick up the car and the documents I need. This image is one of the views I had on a drizzly day.
I love the rain and am fascinated how water droplets stick to some place, while hanging from others. And recently, I photographed snails on tulips!

In this last image, you see part of my bedroom. In the winters, I tend to work in that room, as well as in my kitchen, because those are the spaces with heating. I currently have oil paintings in my room, whereas another room has acrylics and pastels, and the kitchen table has whatever project I can move onto the table to work on. Ever changing!

My bedroom holds most of my personal art collection, as well as some of my own artworks. But the large painting you see at the top is one of a series from a show called InSPIRED by Marc Silva. I knew him from life drawing in Austin, Texas, and have loved his work for several years before I bought this gorgeous, thoughtful painting about how we build churches in an attempt to reach into the heavens. But the architecture with the buttresses also seem to cage us in. I find the work intriguing (yin and yang), masterfully painted, and a bonus of the self-portrait of the artist.

A few follow-up art points:
1) The group exhibition at Oltraneo in Vinci, Tuscany, Italy closes soon. If you happen to be in that area, let me know and I will be able to tell you more about the closing date.
2) Last time, I asked for your contribution of subscribing to my YouTube channel of art-making videos. I was trying to reach a minimum of 500 subscribers. As of this writing, I have been blessed with a total of 506 subscribers! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Now, I hope to keep those and get more watch-minutes. I try to post new videos as I work, but it is difficult to spend so much time editing what is shot. Still, I want you to enjoy your time watching and not waste your time.

I enjoy hearing from you and hope that you keep art in your life. If nothing else, it will serve to remind you daily that human creativity can be a positive influence and inspire you to live your best life.
Be well, and Happy Earth Day, soon!
With gratitude,
Kelly
