This turquoise boat was often parked under the famous Ponte Vecchio (old bridge) during the night. The Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy, is the only bridge left that has buildings all the way across it. Today, those shops are mostly selling jewelry. The bridge is the home of the Vasari Corridor that passes above the shops.
This is a print of the original (sold) pastel drawing on black Roma-brand paper. (That paper has ridges, so you will see stripes in the pastel color marks for a different texture.)
The image area is 24 x 8 inches and will have a 1-inch white border around the image. I give you a white border around Dark Arno, but it is more for ease of handling. Personally, I think the white border competes with the strong reflection of the night light on the water. I prefer to dry mount the print and frame with a simple black frame right up against the image. Or you might try a thin colored mat, turquoise or one of the building colors and then the frame? But again, not too much or it just competes with the subject of the art.
Each reproduction is printed on quality Italian paper or Somerset Velvet art paper. I recommend framing behind a non-glare glass, with a mat, and simple frame. [However, see above paragraph.]The color of the mat and frame should go with the color of the print (in this case, perhaps a black mat). Care for your print just as you would any work on paper: do not display in direct sun and protect from humidity. If the print is not dry mounted to another surface, then the framer should only attach the paper to the support on the TOP edge, allowing the paper to hang freely behind the mat. That allows the paper to respond well to most levels of changing humidity.
Thank you for your order!
