Chest Piece


     This lovely artwork is an open edition (vs. limited).  Each wax is slightly different in drip pattern around edges.  Chest Piece depicts a bare man's chest with ruffled finished edges of the crop.  It was inspired by the chest of the bronze figure in Against the Dying of the Light.

Chest Piece Bathroom Size Bronze Wall Sculpture:

     I absolutely LOVE this wall-mounted sculpture! It just keeps growing on me -- from my fascination in pouring the waxes to seeing the bronze emerge from the investment mold to the final patina and waxing process. I adore the textured feel of this bronze that MAKES me yearn to reach out and touch it, as well as the way the light falls on the various textured surfaces.

     I also have fun handpicking the stone backing for this small Chest Piece. Now, I am offering Chest Piece mounted or unmounted, as you see in these images.  I always thought this bronze bas-relief could make a good door pull, alone or as a pair.

This contemporary figurative sculpture is also available in a size 4 times as large, titled Shield (but at this time is orders only, as he needs to be cast again as the first two have sold).  Just contact Kelly at the link below to find out current prices.  A non-refundable one-third deposit will get the work started at the foundry.  In the event, you change your mind, you may use the paid funds towards another artwork by me.

     Also, I will sell this without the stone base.  I have an idea for my own home to turn one of the edition into a door pull for inside my front door.  I will take images of this and post here if I find time to do it.  However, each little bronze comes with two bronze extenders in the back for mounting to the stone.  This means it should be able to be mounted to anything.
