     Land 2006 (Mother Earth) is one of Vasily’s few sculptures using the zany and beautiful Picasso marble.  It is a bathing figure of a woman carved in a warm, peach-colored solid marble (probably Portuguese rose marble) looking towards the sky and very much in Vasily's voice.  She is Mother Earth.  You may see artist's logo carved on figure's left back/rib cage area.

    The base is a granite block.  This is a lovely, classical sculpture with elegant lines and is sure to enhance your small spaces.   Ships from the Chicago area, USA.

 

Note:  This small scale sculpture is important to his life’s work because he developed this idea of woman as the land in THREE separate stone carving symposiums.  His sculptures became part of the permanent art collections of those sponsoring communities:
