    There are so many wonderful things about Texas, but top of my list could be the Painted Bunting birds.  The vibrant and multiple colors of the male was the solution I had been quietly seeking.  About a decade or more ago, in my metallic phase, and when I fell in love with Florentine calligraphy, I had painted silvery-titanium metallic color over TWO 12 x 12-inch thick gallery-wrapped canvases.  Then I added the yellow-red-blue-green and metallic gold calligraphy designs to each, leaving space for an actual subject.  

     Last winter in Florida, I retrieved those canvases from my sister Amber's home and brought them back with me.  Now, I have returned with the painted bunting family life depicted and I LOVE how the results turned out.  This diptych allows one to hang each canvas side-by-side, top and bottom, or diagonally however you wish. Then you may enjoy a Painted Bunting siting year-round.
