This wonderful composition features a couple seated and intertwined. Both are reaching to lift up a large crystal ball, that represents the Earth.
Please note the detail shot included here to see the chisel marks left by the artist on the stone. The texture of the figures contrasts beautifully with the smoothness of the transparent glass ball above them.
Most of these images were shot with a dark background and side-lighting. Thus, the pale green color of the stone figures does not show well. For this, Dilya snapped some images of the sculpture taken in daylight, one indoors, the other outside, to help you see better the actual color of the rock.
It is this unpolished states of the figures that leads the artist's wife Dilbara to wonder if her husband considered the work finished or not. Thus, she is offering this stone and glass ball figurative sculpture at an unheard of low price.
