This is a small and relatively simple mural on a wall section, including a wrap-around wall.  The subject is several white clouds drifting into green hills.

The original inspiration was to put in a dark background over a white wall to showcase some white marble sculpture in a private art collection.

Electrical outlets were left untouched and the design allowed for those white/light areas to be in the clouds and therefore less obtrusive.

Before and Process Images of Mural:

Knowing that I would keep my antique writing desk in front of the wall, as well as keep the paintings in my collection in that space, I drew dark hills and designed white clouds in such a way as to accent the art that I was showcasing in that space.

As I was also finishing up a commission in white marble titled, "Sisters," I wanted to do this project now so that I also had the fringe benefit of using the mural as a backdrop for photographing my own sculpture when I needed a darker-than-stone background.

Below, my neighbor's dog Yoda checks mural progress and filled crack in the plastered wall.  I will admit that I could have done a much better job filling the crack had I used a spatula instead of my finger!)

Mural painting first pass detail:  Note the layering of the darker tree color inside a lighter version of it. Acrylic dries quickly and I want soft edges, which will be reworked later.

Below:  Mural painting progress.  Near the bottom, I must decide what I leave as white clouds and what dark hills.  In the end, I decided to make most of the lower section dark green, other than where the electrical outlet and cover plate exists.  You may also notice that the top row, the distant hill, is slightly bluer than the closer green hills.
