Presentazione dell'artista

La fiducia pu˛ essere una forza fragile. O, almeno, vulnerabile.

Artist's Statement

Faith can be a fragile strength. Or, at least, vulnerable.

I have felt abandoned by friends and disrespected by others who did not know me well enough to know that I was never a threat to them. These were no ordinary rejections. In these days, the na´ve, childlike part of myself, that I have cherished and protected my entire life, began to die. I lost my faith in the goodness of people.

My work often includes the concept of yin and yang. There was always a balance. Depression killed this balance and darkness enveloped my soul. I was not sure this time that I could resurrect the light in me. I kept trying, but I could no longer see magic in people. Without this ability, I felt lost.

After a long period of darkness, and with the assistance of true friends and some new friends, I began to notice again the small and generously kind gestures of others towards one another.

Witness my therapy.

---

I would like to thank the "Madonnari Internazionali Associati" (street painters of Florence) for introducing me to pastels. I would also like to thank the Angel Academy of Art (Florence) for introducing me to the medium of charcoal and helping me to improve my drawing skills. My models are the best. I offer a special thank you to Massimo Fossi for the beautiful frames. And, I appreciate very much the modest Luca Bernardini and Doria Polli for helping me to translate and understand more about the Italian language.
